Terms of Service

Last updated: 18 May 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the AussieCalc.com website, calculators, guides and related materials (collectively, the "Service"). The Service is operated from Australia and references to "we", "us" and "our" refer to the operators of AussieCalc.com. By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility & Account

AussieCalc is a free, open website. No account is required to use any of our calculators or to read our guides. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are between 13 and 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or legal guardian. The Service is designed primarily for Australian residents and uses Australian rates, brackets and rules; if you access it from outside Australia, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with any applicable local laws.

2. Permitted Use

You may use the Service for your personal, non-commercial information and planning purposes. Subject to these Terms you may:

All other use requires our prior written permission.

3. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

4. No Financial, Legal or Tax Advice

AussieCalc provides general information and free calculators for the purpose of giving Australians a rough, indicative view of figures such as stamp duty, income tax, mortgage repayments, lenders mortgage insurance, superannuation balances and capital gains tax. The Service is not personal financial advice, tax advice, legal advice or credit advice within the meaning of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), the Tax Agent Services Act 2009 (Cth), the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 (Cth) or any equivalent legislation.

The outputs are estimates only. They do not take into account your specific circumstances, objectives, financial situation or needs. Before making any decision based on information from the Service, you should consider whether it is appropriate for you and, where relevant, obtain advice from a licensed financial adviser, registered tax agent, qualified accountant, Australian legal practitioner or licensed credit assistance provider. Always confirm tax brackets, stamp duty thresholds, concession eligibility, superannuation contribution caps and LMI premiums with the Australian Taxation Office, the relevant State or Territory revenue office, your superannuation fund, your lender and the LMI provider before relying on any number.

5. Accuracy & Currency of Information

We work to keep our rates, brackets, thresholds and concessions up to date for the 2025–26 Australian financial year and to refresh them as soon as practicable when new rates are announced (for example after the Federal Budget, a state revenue update, an APRA superannuation change or a change to the Helia/QBE LMI rate sheets). Even so, we make no warranty that the Service is accurate, complete, free of error or current at any given moment. Rates, thresholds and rules can change without notice, and individual circumstances vary widely. You are responsible for verifying any figure that affects a real-world decision.

6. Intellectual Property

The AussieCalc name, logo, written editorial content, structure of our calculators, worked examples and FAQ content are owned by AussieCalc and are protected by Australian and international copyright and trademark law. Tax brackets, stamp duty schedules, superannuation rates and similar factual data are not owned by us — they originate from the Australian Taxation Office, state and territory revenue offices, APRA and other public bodies, and we use them as factual data points.

You may quote short excerpts of our editorial content (for example a single paragraph of a worked example) for personal, journalistic or educational use, provided you credit AussieCalc and link to the original page. You may not republish entire pages, FAQs or guides without our prior written permission.

7. Third-Party Links & Advertising

The Service contains links to third-party websites such as the ATO, state revenue offices, APRA, Cloudflare and the privacy notices of Google Analytics and Google AdSense. We provide these links for convenience and do not control or endorse the content, products, services or practices of those sites. You access them at your own risk and subject to their own terms.

The Service displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. We do not control which specific ads are shown to a given visitor; Google's ad-serving systems do, based on a range of signals. Clicking an advertisement is a transaction between you and the advertiser, not us. Our handling of advertising cookies is described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, timely or error-free, or that any defects will be corrected. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AussieCalc, its operators, contributors and associated entities will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, savings, opportunity, data or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Without limiting the foregoing, we will not be liable for any loss arising from you relying on a calculator output, a guide, a worked example, an FAQ answer or any other content on the Service for any real-world decision (including the purchase or sale of property, the lodging of a tax return, a superannuation contribution, a mortgage application or any other financial action). Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our aggregate liability is limited, at our option, to re-supplying the Service or paying the cost of having it re-supplied.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AussieCalc and its operators from and against any claims, demands, losses, costs, expenses and liabilities (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service or your infringement of any third party's rights.

11. Changes to the Service

We may, at any time and without notice, add, modify, suspend or discontinue any feature, calculator, guide or page on the Service. We may also change our rate tables and worked examples as Australian rates and rules change. We are not liable to you or any third party for any such change. The version of the Service available at the time you use it forms the basis of the agreement between us.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Service, to our business practices, or to applicable law. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when the Terms were last revised. Continued use of the Service after the Terms are updated means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree with a change, please stop using the Service.

13. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and the Commonwealth laws of Australia as applicable. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales and the federal courts of Australia for any matter arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service. Nothing in this clause limits any right you have to bring a dispute in the place of your own residence where Australian Consumer Law requires that option to remain available.

14. Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be severed and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, form the entire agreement between you and AussieCalc concerning your use of the Service and supersede any prior understanding on that subject.
